Rumoured sightings of ex-circus cats left to roam wild in the Western Australian bush is the inspiration behind Moira Court’s, Lion Is That You? a book that asks you to ... take a good look around. Are there really lions to be found?

The intricate collage work and draft materials from picture book, Lion Is That You? were recently acquired by the State Library of Western Australia and will be on display in this engaging exhibition curated for children and families.

Look closely at each illustration. Hey Lion, is that you? What can you see hidden amongst the unique Western Australian flora and fauna? Look inside, amongst, upon and between. Are there any clues that a big cat has been there?

Lion Is That You? (Fremantle Press, 2022) has been shortlisted for the 2023 WA Premier’s Book Awards.
